GPS directions to our display may be 150 feet off!

For the first time in the 45 years we have been doing our display, GPS directions have apparently contributed to a total of 3 vehicles this year (coming from North of our home) driving up our stone driveway that leads to the woods. That driveway is about 150 feet North of our actual driveway.

That stone driveway is never plowed, and the ground drops off on both sides of the stoned area which could easily cause a vehicle to get stuck.

The correct driveway is easily identified, as it has a large arch that you drive under to enter the parking area, and being blacktopped it is well maintained. We have a lit 3 foot in diameter round ornament overhanging the street in front of that driveway, and you can see our Santa shed from the street, so it is hard to miss!

I tracked it down. When you type in the address 8590 Phillips Road in Google Maps it correctly shows the main driveway. When you type in Holland Holiday lights in Google Maps it shows the trees about 125 or so feet north of our driveway, which is close to where the gravel driveway is that some folks have gone into. I don’t understand why because the address of Holland‘s Holiday Lights is the same address. In any case, most people have figured it out.
If folks type in the address directly they should have no issue. If they follow the 3 foot diameter ornament which can be seen to the end of Phillips road they will encounter the correct driveway very clearly and have no issues.
